More About Me

Taking the leap to real estate agent was the best decision Teresa Toney made in her career, becoming one half of the talented and driven real estate duo with Wanda Martin Davis.

Experience and Expertise:

Launching her real estate career as an assistant to fellow Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Treasure agent Wanda Martin Davis in 2020, Teresa Toney quickly fell in love with the industry and decided to secure her license to become an agent. Now Teresa and Wanda form a strong partnership, each focused on helping their clients buy and sell the right home for them.

As a Marine Corps Veteran and part of a military family, Teresa says she understands what it’s like for military families to relocate. That led to her securing her Military Relocation Professional (MRP) designation, so she could be the expert for those who serve and protect. Her mission in working with her military clients to help relieve the stress of home buying, as she knows what it’s like to move to a new area and you need to find somewhere to live quickly. With her military experience and her MRP expertise, she can guide them through the process from start to finish. Helping them to find THE home, not just any home.

That knowledge also helps her with a range of other clients, including first time home buyers and those new to the area. Teresa says she loves working with all her clients, adding “I love making that dream become a reality, to be part of the process is an honor.” It is a true sense of accomplishment for her client and for Teresa as an agent.

Teresa’s goal is to educate all her clients – whether they are buying on the mainland or along the waterway. Buying property in the Topsail Island area comes with extra considerations. Whether it’s an investment property, a year-round home; commercial or residential – on the island or the mainland - it involves an understanding of the issues related to our area, including: the beach, dunes, and wetlands; and other environmental considerations like the use of living shorelines. Topics such as flood insurance, setbacks, building codes, conforming and nonconforming lots, etc. are all important to understand. She is excited to share this knowledge to help her clients in the buying and selling process.

Clients – The Most Important Thing:

Teresa knows the market and anticipates what her clients need from her. She says the needs of a military family relocating are different than someone looking for their forever home or an investment property. She adds, “It is important to listen to your clients’ needs and develop a plan that best fits those needs.”

My word is who I am:

An intense interest in community involvement has led Teresa to describe herself as a “serial volunteer.” She is active as a leader in the Boy Scouts, as a liaison between church and troop and as a committee chair for a local troop. She is also involved as a product manager for Onslow County Girl Scouts and leads her own troop. If you’re not careful, she’ll talk you into 6 boxes of cookies!

Teresa stated, “Everything comes down to integrity. I will do everything in my power to help my clients. You can trust I always have their best interest at heart.”

“My word is who I am.”
